Iranian wrestlers ask UN to help free abducted soldiers

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The Iranian freestyle wrestlers in a statement on Tuesday asked the United Nations Resident Coordinator, Gary Lewis, to help secure the release of the five border guards abducted by a terrorist group on February 6.



The wrestlers won the 2014 World Cup in the US on Monday. They defeated Armenia, Turkey, US, India and Russia.

The statement by the Iranian wrestlers on the situation will be delivered to Gary Lewis and Embassy of Pakistan in Tehran today.

Five Iranian border guards were abducted in Jakigour region in Irans Sistan and Balouchestan Province on February 6 and taken to the Pakistani territory.

Jaish-ul-Adl terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
