Iran to launch tourism website

Zistboom:A senior official announced that a comprehensive website of Irans tourist attractions will be launched in the next Iranian year (starting March 21, 2014).
Masoud Soltanifar, the head of Irans Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO), added that President Hassan Rouhani has important plans for the field of tourism, IRNA reported.

Stating that several meetings have been held between the ICHHTO officials and ecotourism activists, Soltanifar noted that the private sectors participation is an opportunity that must be seized.

The official added that when a building overseas is recognized as a historical and national monument, its owner gains a lot of economic profit, but in Iran, the owner incurs a loss.

Soltanifar said Iran has numerous tourist attractions, hence the government is determined to develop the tourism industry.

"The president has called for developing the three fields of cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism, he said.

The ICHHTO chief also said the president plans to develop tourism, increase interaction with the world and generate employment through tourism industry. He added that the prerequisites for implementing these plans have been prepared. "Cultural heritage and education are the two pillars of a countrys development, he said, adding that Iran will be successful in all fields, provided attitudes change.

Soltanifar noted that all sectors of tourism industry are facing problems, which need the active participation of the people and private sector.

"The site will help us have the countrys full tourism information in one place, he said, noting that at present, only scattered online information is available.
