Iran President, Oman FM discuss bilateral ties, regional issues
Muscat, March 12, IRNA Visiting Iranian President Hassan Rouhani discussed Wednesday bilateral ties as well as regional and international developments with Omani Foreign Minister Yousef bin Alawi.
Rouhani arrived in Muscat this morning on his first visit to the country since he took office as Irans president.

Upon arrival in Muscat, Rouhani was welcomed by Omani Deputy Prime Minister Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said and Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.

He was also officially welcomed by Omani Sultan Qaboos at Al Alam palace.

During his two-day stay in Oman, Rouhani and Omani officials will discuss a variety of issues including expansion of bilateral ties and the most important regional and international events.

The foreign minister, oil minister, minister of road and urban development, minister of labor and social welfare, head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, head of Department of Environment, governor of Central Bank of Iran, IRNA managing director and a number of senior officials are accompanying the president during his Muscat trip.

Omani king Sultan Qaboos heading a high-ranking delegation visited Iran in August 2013 soo after Rouhani was elected as Irans president.

Rouhai is scheduled to meet with the Omani trade minister and officials of Iran-Oman Joint Commission.
