Iran, Oman sign MoU on labor, technical training

Muscat, March 12, IRNA Iran and Oman signed a memorandum of understanding on labor, employment and promotion of technical and vocational education.
Signed by Omani manpower minister and Iranian Minister of Cooperative, Labor and Social Welfare Ali Rabiei during President Rouhanis visit to the kingdom, the agreement will pave the way for cooperation in the fields of labor market and promoting skills.

Under the agreement, the two countries will share information on labor market and employment, organize educational courses with the aim of promoting manpower productivity.

They will also prepare the grounds for cooperation of experts and faculty members of the two countries universities, hold conferences, workshops and competitions and draw up joint educational programs.

Rouhani arrived in Muscat Wednesday morning, the first visit since he took office last August.

Upon arrival in Muscat, Rouhani was welcomed by Omani Deputy Prime Minister Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said and Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.

He was also officially welcomed by Omani Sultan Qaboos at Al Alam palace.

During his two-day stay in Oman, Rouhani and Omani officials will discuss a variety of issues including expansion of bilateral ties and the most important regional and international events.

Foreign minister, oil minister, minister of road and urban development, minister of labor and social welfare, head of cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism organization, head of environment organization, governor of central bank of Iran, IRNA managing director and several other senior officials are accompanying the president.
