TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Irans Volleyball Federation is going to make an approach for Slobodan Kovac.

Kovac is coach of Sir Safety Perugia at the moment. The 46-year-old Serbian coach has already played in the Iranian volleyball club Pegah Urmia in 2004-5.

After Julio Velasco stepped down as coach of Iran volleyball team last month, the Iranian officials negotiated with several well-known coaches, namely Andrea Anastasi, Lorenzo Bernardi and Raul Lozano but they have not reached a final agreement with them.

Kovac has won a bronze medal at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta as Yugoslavia player. He has also won a gold medal with the team at Sydney at the 2000 Summer Olympics at the age of 33.
