Iran sentences Zabol prosecutor assassins to death

Iran has handed down death sentences to three people convicted of involvement in the assassination of the former prosecutor of Zabol city in the southeastern Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province.
The news was announced by Zabol Public Prosecutor Mohammad Marzieh on Monday.

On November 6 on their way to work, Zabol Prosecutor Mousa Nouri and his driver were killed by two unidentified terrorists in a drive-by shooting. The assailants fled the scene.

A total of 11 terrorists behind the attack have been arrested and handed over to the Judiciary.

The attack came less than two weeks after 14 Iranian border guards lost their lives and six others were wounded in a terrorist ambush in the provincial border region of Saravan.

Jaish-ul-Adl terrorist group, which claimed responsibility for the shooting, had infiltrated Iran from Pakistan and fled back into Pakistani territory following the attack.
