TEHRAN (FNA)- Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force General Abdollah Araqi underscored the Iranian Armed Forces full preparedness to defend the country, and said Irans deterrence power has dissuaded the enemies from launching military aggression against the Islamic Republic.Although the enemies of the Islamic Republic continuously declare that all options against Iran are on the table, they have never been able to materialize the military option due to the deterrence power which is the result of the martyrs blood and the resistance of the young sons of this territory, Araqi said in the Western province of Kermanshah on Tuesday morning.
He said that enemies are aware that the Iranian forces are capable of confronting them in any asymmetric war relying on the valuable experiences they gained during the 8-year Iraqi imposed war on Iran.
Araqi also said that the Iranian forces are also equipped with such hi-tech weapons that enemies dont dare to make any aggression against the country.
In relevant remarks in February, Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan praised the countrys Armed Forces for their strong deterrence power against the enemy.
Addressing a conference in Tehran, Brigadier General Dehqan said, Our country enjoys a high level of deterrence power in both the hard and soft warfares.
The Iranian defense minister reiterated that the Armed Forces are ready to confront the enemies in different arenas.
In relevant remarks in October, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei described the Iranian Armed Forces' full preparedness as a major deterrent to enemy attacks, and meantime stressed that the country will not step back in case of any foreign aggression.
Because of their Islamic teachings, Iranian nation are not the men of aggression and invasion but they will not fall short of confronting any aggression, Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing Iranian military units in Northeastern province of North Khorassan at the time.
The Leader lauded Iran's high military preparedness, and stated, The only reason the power mongers motivation for waging war has downgraded or getting weakened is the general readiness of Iranian nation and the defense readiness of the armed forces.
The Leader said general readiness of Iranian nation, especially the youth, is today in the highest possible level compared to the past and the armed forces are more prepared and more powerful than the past.
