Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov has met Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian for another round of Russian-Iranian political consultations on Middle East issues.
The main topic on the agenda was seeking ways to settle the Syrian crisis.
“Special attention was paid to the situation in Syria within the joint efforts aimed at continuing the inter-Syrian talks in Geneva in order to find mutually advantageous resolutions on the basis of the Geneva communique of June 30, 2012,” the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
Besides, the Iranian diplomat stressed that Iran watches closely the situation in Ukraine.
“We believe that the Ukrainian people should bring out their opinion. Special attention should be riveted to this,” he stated.
