Iran unveils first solar tourist craft
TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran unveiled the first solar tourist craft with the capability of carrying 14 people.
"The required force of the tourist craft dubbed Mitra 1 is provided by the solar cells of the craft's roof. The craft is capable of carrying 14 passengers and can move with the speed of at most 6 nuts in calm waters," said Ziyaei, managing director of the company built the craft.

He said a petrol-fueled engine is used inside the craft to boost its power in necessary cases, adding the craft is eight meters long, two meters wide and has a crew member.

The whole energy required for the craft is supplied by clear solar energy.

The company has also built 24-meter passenger craft, oil pollutants, naval and anti-fire ambulance crafts and aluminum and steel-made guide pilots.
