Rouhani stresses expansion of tourism ties with Slovenia
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a meeting with Slovenias new Accredited Ambassador to Iran Milan Jazbec in Tehran on Monday underlined the important role of the tourism industry in broadening the two countries' mutual cooperation.


The more we bring the two nations closer to each other and expand tourism cooperation, the more the relations in different areas will be expanded, President Rouhani said in the meeting in the Iranian capital today.

The Iranian president said that Iran is also ready to expand economic, trade and cultural ties with Slovenia.

President Rouhani also called for mutual cooperation between the private sectors of Iran and Slovenia.

The Slovenian ambassador, for his part, pointed to the high potentials existing for Iran-Slovenia cooperation, and said, Cooperation between the businessmen and private sectors of the two countries is very important and we can expand that through our relations.

He underlined that exchange of visits at economic and trade levels as well as the upcoming visit of the Slovenian parliamentary delegation to Tehran will certainly result in the expansion of cooperation.

Iran and Slovenia have both tried to expand bilateral relations and mutual cooperation in different fields in recent years.

Former Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, heading a high-ranking delegation, paid a visit to Slovenia in July 2011.

During the daylong visit, the Iranian foreign minister inaugurated the Islamic Republic of Iran's Embassy in Ljubljana.
