Bahrain supports Irans nuclear energy program
Bahrain has expressed support for Iran's nuclear energy program and stated that the Islamic Republic will use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
Certainly, Irans application of nuclear energy will be for peaceful purposes. All Muslim states denounce the use of atomic bombs. However, the civilian use of nuclear energy, namely in the field of medicine, will be beneficial to all Muslims, ICANA quoted Bahraini First Deputy Chairman of the Representatives Council, Abdullah Khalaf al-Dosari, as saying in Tehran on Sunday.

In a joint press conference with EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton in the Austrian capital, Vienna, on February 20, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif described as fruitful and extensive the latest nuclear talks between Tehran and the six world powers, saying the negotiations were a good start for reaching a final agreement.

In addition to our discussions [that] we had at the political level, we also started technical discussions, he said, adding that the two sides also agreed upon a timeframe to follow up on relevant issues in the next four months.

Ashton, for her part, said, We had three very productive days, during which we identified all the issues we need to address (to reach a final agreement). There is a lot to do. It wont be easy but weve made a good start.

The talks over Irans nuclear energy program started between the Islamic Republic and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council -- the United States, China, Russia, France and Britain -- plus Germany in Vienna on February 18. The discussions were presided over by Zarif and Ashton.

The talks in Vienna were follow-up to earlier negotiations in Geneva, which resulted in a landmark interim deal between Iran and the six countries in November 2013. The deal took effect on January 20.

The next round of the talks between Iran and the world powers are to be held in Vienna on March 17.
