Tehran, Feb 23, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi said the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) has paved the way for regional cooperation.
He made the remarks here Sunday morning in the opening ceremony of ECOˈs 24th Regional Planning Council meeting (RPC).
He said the organization has to pay more attention to such important issues as trade, health and food security.
He called on the private sectors of the member states to become active in an attempt to materialize the objectives of the body.
Araqchi said development is one of the most basic issues many of the ECO member states are concentrating on, reiterating that growth in national economy, stability in trade, sustainable environment and industrial development will be achieved only through cooperation.
