The family of a 28-year old Iranian man declared brain dead after a ski accident has decided to donate his organs.
Navid used to get excited whenever we talked about organ donation or watched a movie that was about it. I am personally in favor of donating organs. I am begging people, especially athletes who naturally have healthier bodies, to make organ donation a norm in our society ... I am proud of donating my sons organs. To me, every person who will receive his organs is like my own child, his father told Press TV correspondent.
Navid Shahsavandi went into a coma on February 13 after he collided with a ski-lift pillar at the Dizin resort, north east of Tehran.
The skier, who had sustained serious injuries in the head, arms, legs, and pelvis, was declared brain dead on Friday after more than a week in a coma.
