FM to arrive in India on February 27

New Delhi, Feb 21, IRNA Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will arrive in New Delhi on February 27 on a two-day India visit.
He is expected to hold talks with External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on a range of bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest, pti quoted the spokesperson in Ministry of External Affairs as saying here today.

Around two years ago, Dr. Ali Akbar Salehi, former minister of foreign affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited India as Special Envoy of the then President Mahmood Ahmedinejad, to hand over an invitation to Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, to attend the 16th NAM Summit held in Tehran in August 2012.

India and Iran have ancient civilizational relation. The two countries are associated by common bonds of culture, language, traditions.

Despite the failed attempt of certain countries to create rift between the two nations, India and Iran continue to maintain civilisational and historical ties.

India and Iran are cooperating in the rebuilding of Afghanistan, the close cooperation between the two friendly nations will be beneficial for the region in particular and for the world in general.
