Muslim states concerned about spread of terrorism, Takfiris

Tehran, Feb 19, IRNA Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Wednesday that all Muslim countries are worried about the spread of the evil phenomenon of terrorism and Takfiris.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the ninth summit of the Interparliamentary Union of Organization of Islamic Cooperation, he referred to the terrorist bombing near Iran?s Cultural Office in Beirut and said that terrorism, extremism and Takfiri beliefs are among the challenges facing the world.


Referring to the declaration of hatred about terrorism and Takfiris by the parliamentary delegations attending the summit, Larijani said that the member states announced their concern over the menace of terrorism.

Larijani, also head of the OIC Interparliamentary Union, said such terror acts occur in all countries. This shows that terrorism is a serious issue to create discord among Muslim states.

Muslim states believe that they should fight the evil phenomenon, he pointed out.

Larijani said that active presence of Muslim states? parliaments in the summit revealed which challenges the Muslim World faces and which capabilities they have.

During the summit, solution for settling the challenges were offered by the participating delegations, he said.

Presence all member states of the union in the summit is indicative of the Muslim World?s firm resolve, he said, noting that although there is differences in their views, but when it comes to maintaining Islam and Islamic unity, they stand united to counter tyranny and oppression.

Criticizing certain states for their tactical use of terrorism, Larijani said that hatred of extremism of the Muslim countries was evident in their lectures presented to the Conference.

Participants? stance over the issue of Palestine revealed that the issue is a pivotal topic for all the Muslim states and the Zionist regime should know that it can no longer mount pressure on the Palestinians.
