US official voices satisfaction with Tehran-Washington talks

Vienna, Feb 19, IRNA – An American official voiced his satisfaction with bilateral talks between representatives of Iran and the US in Vienna.


The US official said that the negotiations between Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araqchi and US Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman have been fruitful.

Three EU countries participating in the Group 5+1 team in Vienna also stressed the good atmosphere of talks in the first day of negotiations, but reminded that no specific results have been gained from the talks as yet.

Iran-Group 5+1 talks have been extended to the second day and the negotiations will continue on Wednesday about determining the agenda for future talks in the final steps.

The two sides are slated to set the agenda and framework of future talks in Vienna and the issues that the two sides expect to be discussed in the negotiations in a bid to set a specific agenda for future talks.
