Tehran, Feb 18, IRNA Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham on Tuesday strongly condemned terrorist attacks across Iraq, including the capital Baghdad today which killed some 50 innocent Iraqi people.
Undoubtedly, the terrorists and their supporters are seeking to take revenge on Iraqi people and government and to damage the Iraqi democracy and national interests through such inhuman and brutal acts, Afkham said.
They are seeking to fuel sectarian conflicts in Iraq and to trigger a civil war in the country, she added.
The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman voiced Irans support for the Iraqi people and government, urging different political groups in Iraq to engage in dialogue to foster national unity and stem the bloodshed.
