TEHRAN – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says he will support the Iranian athletes competing in the FIFA 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.
In a two-hour meeting with Rouhani in Tehran on Sunday, Iranian Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Mahmoud Goudarzi explained the Iranian football team’s preparation process for the World Cup.
Goudarzi also discussed the activities of the Iranian teams that will compete in the Asian Games in South Korea.
Iran has been drawn in Group F of the 2014 World Cup with Argentina, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Nigeria.
The Asian Games will be held in Incheon, South Korea from September 19 to October 4.
Iran finished in fourth place, behind China, South Korea, and Japan, in the last edition of the Asian Games, which was held in Guangzhou, China.
