Iran, Powers to resume talks on Tuesday

TEHRAN, Feb. 16 (MNA) Irans senior nuclear negotiator has said Iran and Powers will resume nuclear talks on UN headquarters in Vienna on Tuesday.

Abbas Araghchi told Mehr News that Mohammad Javad Zarif the foreign minister would lead the negotiating team to Vienna and that they would leave tomorrow (Monday). Mr. Zarif will meet Mrs. Ashton, the EU foreign policy chief in a working dinner session in Islamic Republic diplomatic residence venue, Araghchi added.

Iran and Powers will resume nuclear negotiations officially in 11 hours local times in UN headquarters in Vienna on Tuesday. Araghchi told Mehr News that the composition of the negotiating team would be the same as before, with only exception of addition of Mr. Rahimian, an Atomic Energy Organization official, to the team. There have been no details about possible changes in Powers negotiating team arrangement, he said.

The first step Iran and Powers held 4 rounds of talks. The first round was held between Zarif and Ashton in the sidelines of UN General Assembly in New York. The third round brought the signing of Joint Plan of Action. In January, expert levels mapped the implementation of the Geneva deal, during which Iran reduced the enrichment to 5 per cent from previous 20 per cent. The west removed some of sanctions on Iran in return. According to Geneva deal, the final step would be realized in a year, and would render Irans nuclear program as a normal issue referred to the UN, and result in removal of all sanctions on Iran.
