Iran MP slams Takfiri crimes as US-Israeli plot

A veteran Iranian lawmaker has condemned appalling crimes committed by foreign-backed Takfiri elements in the region, describing them as another instance of plots hatched by the US and the Israeli regime.
Tehrans representative to the Majlis and former Speaker of the legislative body Gholamali Haddad-Adel further stated in a Sunday evening speech in the holy city of Qom that the deviant Takfiri trend aims to instigate war between Shia and Sunni followers of Islam in an effort to obstruct the Islamic awakening and to prevent unity among Muslims.

He termed economic war as yet another enemy conspiracy against Iran in recent years, and highlighted Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khameneis remarks that resistance against the economic war should come through reliance on domestic resources, local manpower and national unity.

He then pointed to the uprisings in a number of regional countries, especially Egypt, in recent years and said the reason those revolutions failed was the lack of a sound leadership that could manage national crisis and play a key role in establishing unity, as the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini and Ayatollah Khamenei have done.

Haddad-Adel also expressed support for the Iranian negotiating team in the Geneva nuclear talks with the Sextet and reiterated they should be given the opportunity to bring the process into fruition, advising against passing early judgments about the progress of the talks.

He also emphasized that the Irans legislature is closely following the nuclear talks and tries to preserve its communication lines with the negotiating team.
