Iran, IAEA start 2nd day of talks in Tehran

Tehran, Feb 9, IRNA The second day of talks between representatives of Iran and those of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) began here on Sunday.

The negotiations are to be focused on Iran-IAEA cooperation in accordance to a joint statement issued on November 11, 2013, by the two sides on the framework of bilateral cooperation.


Iran?s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN nuclear watchdog Reza Najafi is leading the Iranian delegation, while the IAEA delegation is led by Tero Varjoranta, deputy IAEA director general.

The first day of talks between the two sides was held in two morning and afternoon sessions in the Iranian capital on Saturday.

Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi has described the Saturday discussions as ?good, constructive and progressing.?

He hoped the talks would wind up later on Sunday issuing an official statement by the two sides.
