Tehran, Feb 2, IRNA The karate team of Islamic Azad University, representing Iran in the Karate Grand Prix in the UAE, on Sunday won two gold, one silver and two bronze medals of the contests, held in Dubai from February 1-2.
A total of 1,280 karatekas in different age groups from 50 countries had taken part in the mens and womens sections of the contests.
Saeed Ahmadi and Sajad Ganjzadeh won the two gold medals for Iran in the 75 kg and 84 kg categories, while Bahman Asgari gained the silver medal in the 75 kg category and Mehdi Soltani and Saeed Hassanipour grabbed two bronze medals in the 84 kg category.
