TEHRAN, Jan. 28 (MNA) � The nuclear agreement signed between Iran and the world powers (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) does not mean a normalization of ties between Tehran and Washington, a top Iranian nuclear negotiator said on Monday.


�We have fundamental disagreements with the U.S. on different issues, including human rights, Palestine, (the U.S.) hegemony, and so on. One of the disagreements was on the nuclear issue which we have made efforts to handle in order to uphold the rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran,� Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Monday.

�If they want to continue or restore sanctions on Iran under other excuses, it means they are violating the agreement,� Araqchi added.

U.S. President Barack Obama has seriously opposed any new sanctions against Iran after the landmark nuclear deal was clinched between Iran and the 5+1 group in Geneva in November 2013, warning that new sanctions could derail the fragile nuclear talks.

However, some senators are working hard to approve a new sanctions bill against Iran. Right now, the bill has 58 co-sponsors. On the other side, 10 Dem Senate committee chairs have signed a letter opposing a vote, according to the Washington Post.
