Iran elected as VP of group 77 with FAO
TEHRAN (FNA)- The Group 77 (G77) of the developing nations elected Iran as vice-president of the alliance for the year 2014 with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).


Iran won the position on yes votes of ambassadors of Group 77 developing nations' alliance, the Islamic republic news agency reported.

The G77 comprises 132 members, being the biggest inter-governmental organization of the developing nations among the UN member states.

Iran won presidency of the G77 with FAO in 2010 for the first time since the alliance emerged.

Meanwhile, Iranian Permanent Representative to FAO Aminollah Taqavi said that Iran will take the presidency of the Group 77 of developing nations with FAO in 2015 on a rotating basis.
