Carlos Queiroz on Bafana radar

TEHRAN, Jan. 28 (MNA) Iran football coach Carlos Queiroz is a top candidate to replace Gordon Igesund as head coach of South Africa.

Former Portugal coach, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United, will lead the Iranian football team in the 2014 World Cup.

Igesund, whose contract expires in June, is reportedly a subject of investigation at the team over allegations he influenced his players to demand higher bonuses, weeks before the African Nations Championship kicked off, according to thenewage.com.

Queiroz, who has coached South Africa football team from 2000 to 2002, has said his focus is purely on the 2014 World Cup.
