Iran, Middle Easts top steel producer

Tehran, Jan 26, IRNA Iran topped the list of steel producing countries in the Middle East in 2013.
According to a report by the Mines and Mining Industry Development and Renovation Organization, Iran managed to secure the first place in the region by producing 15.4 million tons of raw steel during the period.

The report further mentioned a survey by the World Steel Association which said the figure indicated a growth of 6.6 percent as compared to its previous year.

In 2013, China ranked first as the world biggest steel producer followed by Japan and the US.

Iran ranks 15th in the world in terms of steel production.
