Romania stresses relations with Iran
Nasim Romanian Ambassador to Iran Christian Teodorescu said in a meeting with Chairman of the Iran-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group Mohammad Mehdi Zahedi in Tehran thathis country attaches great and special importance to its relations with the Islamic Republic.
The Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys a special position in Romanias foreign policy, Teodorescu said on Tuesday.

He pointed to the abundant opportunities for the further expansion of the relations between Tehran and Bucharest and expressed hope for the development of amicable ties in different sectors through the enhancement of parliamentary relations.

Zahedi, for his part, said the Iran-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group supports the enhancement of cooperation between the two countries in different political, economic and cultural fields.

Earlier on January 7, Teodorescu said a parliamentary delegation from his country would pay an official visit to Tehran in January to explore ways of boosting cooperation between the southeastern European country and the Islamic Republic.

In a meeting held on the sidelines of the 68th UN General Assembly Session in New York on September 28, 2013, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Romanian counterpart Titus Corlatean hailed the existing relations between Tehran and Bucharest, and called for the further expansion of their countries cooperation in all fields.

The two top diplomats also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
