The 32nd edition of Irans Fajr International Theater Festival is planning to pay tribute to four prominent Iranian stage actors and directors.The selected artists will be honored with the lifetime achievement awards during the closing ceremony of the festival.
Ferdows Kaviani (actor), Nosratollah Masoudi (playwright and actor), Nahid Moslemi (actress) and Anoushirvan Arjmand (actor and director) will receive the awards.
This years festival, kicked off on January 18, is currently presenting various programs at stage and street sections.
The festival is held in two main competitive and non-competitive sections for international and national selections along with various categories.
Some 14 plays from different countries are to be performed at the international section of the event.
The selected works are perforemed by the ensembles from Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Hungary, Romania, Poland and Bulgaria.
The section is also hosting the performances by the troupes from Iraq, India, Tunisia and South Korea along with several Iranian ensembles, said the festivals secretary Esmail Alizadeh.
A new section titledIrans Social Theaterhas been also offered in the years programs.
The 2014 festivals participated works have been required to focus on the promotion of intercultural Tolerance and Respect.
The 32nd Irans Fajr International Theater Festival will run until February 1, 2014.
