Iranian Ambassador to Republic of Ireland Hossein Panahiazarsays implementation of the Geneva deal between Tehran and the six major world powers is paving the way for an increase in relations with Dublin.

Relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Ireland, in general, have always been peaceful and without tension and after the deal achieved in Geneva negotiations on the nuclear issue, relations between the two countries are about to grow, Panahiazar told IRNA on Sunday.

Dublin has always stressed on the necessity to solve Irans nuclear issue through diplomacy and maintain relations with the Islamic Republic, Panahiazar said.
Of course, the foreign relations of Ireland are affected by membership in the European Union (EU) and this country, like other EU members, sets its relations with other countries, including Iran, in the framework of EU regulations, added the Iranian ambassador.
On November 24, 2013, Iran and the six major world powers Russia, China, the US, France, Britain and Germany inked the nuclear accord in the Swiss city of Geneva. The two sides have agreed to start implementing the agreement from January 20.

Under the Geneva deal, the six countries undertook to provide Iran with some sanctions relief in exchange for Iran agreeing to limit certain aspects of its nuclear activities during a six-month period.

The two sides also agreed that no more nuclear-related sanctions would be imposed on Iran within the same timeframe.
