TEHRAN (FNA)- A group of members of the Russian Federation Council and the State Duma arrived in Syria for a working visit on Saturday.


"A group of parliamentarians has arrived in Syria and is heading for Damascus now," Alexander Yushchenko, a member of the State Duma Communist Party faction, told Interfax on Saturday.

The delegation includes also Federation Council Member Dmitry Sablin, State Duma Property Committee Member Sergei Gavrilov of the Communist Party, members of the Duma inter-faction group for the protection of traditional Christian values, and members of some non-governmental organizations, including religious ones, he said.
