Lavrov: Iran, Russia, Syria share views on upcoming Syria conference

Moscow, Jan 17, IRNA Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said he was happy Iran, Russia and Syria shared views on necessity of holding the international conference on Syria.
The foreign minister made the remarks in a joint press conference with his visiting Syrian counterpart Walid al Moallem here on Friday.

Foreign ministers of Iran, Russia and Syria held a meeting in Moscow on Thursday during which they discussed the humanitarian crisis in Syria.

The three foreign ministers exchanged views on the upcoming international conference on Syria and stressed that the simmering conflict in the country needs to be resolved through political dialogue.

Lavrov voiced Moscow?s concern over hesitation of Syrian rebels, particularly the so-called Syrian National Coalition to name their representatives to attend the conference.
