Tehran, Jan 16, IRNA � Chairman of the Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said Thursday that based on international laws and regulations, no country can prevent other nations from making nuclear achievements and progress.

Rafsanjani made the remarks in a meeting with Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi.


Salehi met Rafsanjani to brief him on the latest peaceful nuclear activities and research works carried out in the country.

He also briefed the senior official on recent expert talks held between representatives of Iran and those of the Group 5+1 (the US, Britain, China, France and Russia plus Germany).

Hashemi Rafsanjani expressed satisfaction with the efforts made by domestic scientists to make peaceful use of the nuclear technology in the country.
