Iranian judicial delegation meets with Lebanese FM, army commander

Beirut, Jan 16, IRNA - Iran?s judicial delegation conferred on Thursday with Lebanese Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour, and the country?s Armed Forces Commander General Jean Kahwagi on issues of mutual interests as well as regional developments.

The Iranian judicial delegation led by Deputy Justice Minister Abdolali Mirkuhi arrived in Lebanon on Wednesday for probe into the terrorist bombing of Iran?s Embassy in Beirut which killed 25 people including Iranian cultural attache Ibrahim Ansari.


In his meeting with the Lebanese foreign minister, Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi was also present.

Speaking to reporters, after the meeting, Mirkuhi said the visit of the delegation is being made upon Iran?s request to probe the terrorist bombing attack on the Iranian Embassy.

Expressing regret over death of a group of Iranian and Lebanese nationals, he said such heinous crimes have created numerous problems for the Lebanese people.

Iran is ready to fully cooperate with Lebanese security and judicial officials to this effect, Mirkuhi said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran and its people have always been victims of terrorism, he said.

Iran has always condemned terrorist acts as believes that such measures disrupt orders and security, he said.

To seriously deal with terrorism and help eradicate this phenomenon, international cooperation is of prime importance, he said.

The Iranian delegation is scheduled to meet with the Lebanese justice minster to exchange views, information and experiences on how to fight 0 terrorism effectively, he said.
