Russia President Vladimir Putin says the implementation of the Geneva nuclear deal between Tehran and the six world powers will guarantee Irans right to use peaceful nuclear technology.Speaking during a ceremony held to receive credentials of a number of foreign envoys including new Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaee on Thursday, the Russian president said the nuclear accord, which was inked between Iran and the Sextet of world powers Russia, China, Britain, the US, France and Germany on November 24 last year, should not remain only on paper.
Putin added that the implementation of the landmark agreement will provide conditions[to] ensure Irans right to possess peaceful atoms under the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) control.
On January 12, Iran and the Sextet of world powers finalized an agreement to start implementing the Geneva nuclear deal from January 20. The accord is aimed at setting the stage for the full resolution of the Wests decade-old standoff with Tehran over its nuclear energy program.
Irans Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi has said that as Iran begins to execute the Geneva deal, the six countries will begin to ease sanctions on Tehran.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Putin hailed bilateral relations between Iran and Russia, stressing that Tehran-Moscow ties are entering a new level.
The Russian president further said Moscow is holding fruitful dialogue with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and other Iranian officials on various issues including the enhancement of bilateral ties as well as Tehrans nuclear energy program.
