An Iranian MP says Riyadhs support for terrorist groups endangers the security of the Middle East, calling on the United Nations to help put an end to Saudi Arabias policy.
Given the position that Russia, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, has taken on terrorist attacks in this country, the UN Secretary-General [Ban Ki-moon] has been asked to investigate Saudi Arabias role in regional terrorist attacks, Chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Tuesday.

On December 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin vowed to fight terrorists and destroy them following two bombings in the southern Russian city of Volgograd.
Boroujerdi added that Al Saud family openly supports Takfiri terrorists in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon, saying, The UN must help the Saudi government to change its policy and approach, as the continuation of this policywill not benefit Saudi Arabia, the Muslim world, Arab world and the region.
The senior Iranian MP also stressed the need for legal action to be taken by Iran at the UN Security Council over the bomb attacks outside the Iranian Embassy in the Lebanese capital Beirut last November.

On November 19, 2013, twin bombings outside the Iranian Embassy in Beirut left at least 25 people dead, including six Iranian nationals, and wounded over 150 others.

On January 1, the Lebanese government confirmed the arrest of Majed al-Majed, the Saudi leader of the al-Qaeda-linked Abdullah Azzam Brigades that claimed responsibility for the twin bombings.

The UN chief is planning to discuss reports of Saudi Arabias support for terrorist groups in Iraq with the Security Council. Ban Ki-moon touched on the issue during his talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Monday.
