Fajr theater festival announces 2014 intl. lineup
The 32nd edition of Irans Fajr International Theater Festival has released names of the troupes selected for the years international section.
Some 33 Iranian and international theater ensembles have been selected to contend for awards at the international section of this years festival.

Polish director Wlodzimierz Staniewski will direct the Gardzienice Theater Troupe in staging the play titledPythian Oratorium. Staniewski is also to hold several workshops during the event.

The other participated international troupes are from Armenia, Canada, France, India, Norway South Korea and Spain.

A troupe led by Iranian director Mohammad Yaqoubi is scheduled to perform Irish playwright Martin McDonaghsThe Pillowmanat the international section that will host 22 other Iranian ensembles.

Akbar Zanjanpour is also slated to stage the Russian playwright Anton ChekhovsUncle Vanya.

Arash Dadgar, Ofoq Iraji, Milad Nikabadi and Hamid Reza Naeimi are other Iranian stage directors who are slated to present their works at the section.

The 2014 festivals participated works have been required to focus on the promotion of intercultural Tolerance and Respect.

This years jury members of the various categories have not been announced yet.

Some 106 performances from Iran and other countries were presented at last years edition of the festival.

Iran holds the international Fajr film, theater, music and visual arts festivals every year to mark the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The 32nd Irans Fajr International Theater Festival is scheduled to take place from January 16 to February 1, 2014.
