The spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) says representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will visit Iran on Saturday for the implementation of Tehrans nuclear deal.
The IAEA representatives will travel to Tehran for the implementation of the first step of the Joint Action Plan (nuclear deal) on January 18, said Behrouz Kamalvandi in a Monday interview.

The official noted that the presence of the IAEA envoys in Iran does not mean they will be stationed in the country.

On Sunday, Iran and the six powers finalized an agreement on ways to take the first step to implement the Geneva nuclear agreement on January 20.

Kamalvandi also dismissed rumors of the IAEA wanting to set up a temporary office in Tehran.

On Friday, AEOI Director Ali Akbar Salehi said Iran is in talks with the IAEA to start a second phase of cooperation with the UN atomic body.

In the second phase, Iran and the agency need to negotiate and work out a clear framework on how to continue their cooperation, Salehi said.

Iran and the UN nuclear body signed a joint statement in November 2013 to outline a roadmap for bilateral cooperation on certain outstanding issues.

Under the deal, Iran agreed, on a voluntary basis, to allow the IAEA inspectors to visit the Arak heavy water plant and Gachin uranium mine. The IAEA Safeguards Agreement does not require Tehran to authorize IAEA inspections to visit those sites
