Tabriz, East Azarbaijan, Jan 11, IRNA � First International Seminar of Earthquake and 32nd National Conference on Geo sciences will be held in Tabriz on February 16-19, said deputy head of State Northwest Geology Organization.
Talking to IRNA, Mohammad Faridi, the event will focus on geology of earthquake, seismology, engineering of earthquake and tectonics.

Northwestern Iran, especially Tabriz, is at the center of seismological discussions for its location on active faultline, he said.

In addition to Iranian experts, students and academicians, geologists and experts on seismology from several countries including Switzerland, Britain, France, Italy, Turkey, Azerbaijan Republic, Georgia and China will take part in the upcoming event to present their latest researches and achievements, Faridi said.
