Zanganeh: $32 billion collected from oil revenues

Tehran, Jan 9, IRNA Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said Thursday that Iran has collected $32 billion from oil and gas sales. He put the total sales of oil and gas at $34 billion for the first nine months of the current Iranian year (started March 21).
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the 40th founding anniversary of the Consultant Engineers Society, he noted the figure collected surpassed planned sales.

He further noted that sale of gas liquids experienced an increase of 100,000 barrels year-on-year.

Responding to a question on the public grievances about producing petrol from petrochemical components, Zanganeh said that executive operations are underway at Setareh Khalij-e Fars Refinery to utilize the refinery for producing petrol and stop production of petrol at petrochemical complexes.

Environmentalists have called on the government to import petrol from foreign countries and stop supplying petrochemical petrol which created alarming health situation in Tehran and other big cities.

They say that the government had better spend the subsidies paid monthly to the people living in Tehran to clean up the environment and provide life support system for the public.

Degradation of environment sends several thousand people to hospital every day some of them never come to life again.
