Tehran hosts the 13th Association of the Industries of Household Appliances of Iran. Over 200 domestic and international companies from 8 countries such as Italy, Germany and Spain attended the 3-day event.The aim of the international expo is to showcase the high capabilities of the Iranian industry of household appliances. According to Irans Association of Household Appliances the country has more than 500 home appliance manufacturers who last year produced more than 6 billion dollars worth of home appliances and spare parts for domestic consumers and imported around 1.5 billion dollars worth of home appliances.
The Expo showcased various household appliances ranging from ovens, refrigerators, water heaters & coolers, air conditioning units, Freezer, hoods, washing machine, dish washers and vacuum cleaners.
Industry experts explained because of the illegal unilateral sanctions by the US and some of its allies of the past 2 years national production has increased tremendously in Iran. Today over 70% of household appliances are produced domestically, while over 80% of the raw materials used in producing household appliances are also manufactured in the country.
