The head of the Tabriz Workers’ House says tractor-manufacturing workers are staging protests in front of the Industry and Mining Department of Eastern Azerbaijan Province.
ILNA reports that the workers are protesting their employer’s failure to pay their wages for more than eight months.
Karim Sadeghzadeh reported that 250 workers at the Tabriz Tractor factory have not been paid for eight months and are in complete limbo, with both the owner and the government refusing to take responsibility for the proper management of the plant.
Officials urged workers to return to their homes and give the department time to sort the matter out.
The workers had also come out in protest last month, but their demands have not been addressed so far.
