TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian researchers have identified vibration particles using inverse acoustics which could be used in identification of vibration sources and evaluation of their severity in gas pipelines.
The study focuses on identification of faults in gas and oil pipelines as well as faults in vibration systems including engines, turbines, compressors and pumps using simple sound measurements.
The method is a new one designed in the world for the first time. Using simple microphones, the severity and frequency of sound in several parts near the system could be measured.
The faults in the system can be identified through processing and inverse analysis of vibration sources.
The depth and path of the gas pipeline inside the earth as well as leak of these gas pipes can be identified by the technology.
The method costs lower comparing to other methods developed so far.
