Zarif calls for expansion of Tehran-Doha relations

Tehran, Jan 6, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Monday that Tehran attaches importance to expansion of relations and cooperation with its neighboring states.

Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with new Qatari Ambassador to Tehran Ali ibn Ahmad Ali al-Salayti.


The new Qatari ambassador submitted a copy of credential to Zarif.

The Iranian foreign minister expressed the hope that relations between Tehran and Doha would further develop more than before.

Zarif said that the ground for setting up Iran-Qatar joint economic commission meeting is well prepared.

He called for continued exchange of views between the two governments on mutual, regional and global developments.

Al-Salayti for his part expressed the hope that during his tenure in Iran, he would spare no efforts to help broaden and deepen relations between the two nations.

The Qatari high ranking officials call for expansion of relations and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran, the ambassador said.
