Esteqlal has blanked Rah Ahan to top the table of Irans Premier League (IPL) in the 21st week of the season.The Blues leapfrogged the Reds, after an away 1-0 victory at Takhti stadium in Tehran on Saturday.
The solo of the match was scored by Mohammad Mehdi Nazari, who gave the Blues the winner by a neat inside shot after a cross from the right in the 67th minute.
In other matches of the day, Mes drew with Saipa 2-2, Saba lost to Sepahan 0-1, Gostaresh Foulad edged past Damash 2-1, and the match between Teraktorsazi and Fajr Sepasi was played out to a scoreless draw.
In other matches of the 21st week on Friday, Persepolis tied goalless with Naft Tehran, Foulad blanked Esteqlal Khouzestan with two goals, and Zob Ahan drew with Malavan 1-1.
Esteqlal currently has 41 points, one adrift of its archrival Persepolis, which is followed by Foulad with 39 points in the third place.
