Zarif returns home from Istanbul

Tehran, Jan 5, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif returned home late Sunday from Istanbul which took place on the invitation of his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu.

According to Foreign Ministry Media Department, during his trip, Zarif discussed bilateral relations, promoting economic and commercial cooperation with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Davutoglu.

Making arrangements for Erdoganˈs upcoming visit to Tehran and President Hassan Rouhaniˈs trip to Turkey and holding 24th Commission of Iran-Turkey Joint Economic Cooperation were among the other subjects reviewed in Zarifˈs meeting with Turkish officials.

Zarif held talks with senior Turkish officials on issues of mutual interest as well as major regional developments including the Syrian crisis.

The foreign ministers of Iran and Turkey also discussed ways to find a peaceful solution to the humanitarian crisis in Syria.
