Iranian researcher produces bone powder by bovine fetal tissues

TEHRAN (ISNA)- An Iranian researcherhas produced bone powder from bovine fetal tissues.
"Using bovine fetal plate growth tissue for the first time, a bone powder was produced. It changes muscles of the abdominal wall to bone tissue," Amin Bigham-Saleh told ISNA.

The powder stimulates healing broken bones and change muscles to bones, he said, adding the powder can be easily produced.

DBM was the version produced earlier by using body bones, but this method cost too much and it is expected that this new method could replace DBM.

Results of the research have been published in Croatian Veterinarski Arhiv Journal and British Research in Veterinary Science.

The Iranian researcher has already used fetal tissue and stem cells, producing bone tissue.

Are any cows harmed in this process? Does the research cause them pain or suffering? Just how far are they going to go? Where does it become unethical and immoral? You cannot play God with eLiving Things. How were the stem cells harvested? I do like research but just how far is man allowed to go? I recognize other applications and I do wonder if certain things could be accomplished but I worry about "Playing God."
