Iran, Belarus enjoy potentials for joint venture: Envoy

Belarusian Ambassador to Tehran Rybak Viktor says Tehran and Minsk have to explore potentials for joint-venture projects.

Viktor said on Sunday that there are numerous grounds for bilateral cooperation between Iran and Belarus.

The top diplomat added that the 12th meeting of Iran-Belarus Joint Commission is planned to be held in Tehran. He did not provide any date.

Iran and Belarus have developed good relations in recent years, particularly in the economic and trade sectors and have signed a number of agreements to shore up bilateral cooperation.

In 2010, Iran inaugurated a large copper wire factory and the second phase of Samand car assembly line in Belarus.

Major exports of Belarus to Iran include potash fertilizers, synthetic fibers and synthetic fiber cords, while it imports cars, grape, automobile spare parts and tractors from Iran.

In October, Belarus Deputy Foreign Minister Valentin Rybakov visited Iran. During his visit, he described Iran as a key partner, saying Belarusian officials see no limitation to the expansion of friendly ties with the Islamic Republic.

He highlighted Irans status in the region and voiced his countrys readiness to further develop relations with the Islamic Republic in all sectors.
