Borderguards seize over five tons of drug in border areas

Tehran, Dec 28, IRNA – Some 5,229 kilograms of all types of drugs were seized on border areas in the past three months and three drug traffickers were killed in fire exchange, commander for borderguards Brigadier-General Abbas Ataee said on Saturday.

Iranian borderguards are in full control of all checkpoints and are to seriously deal with drug traffickers, he said.

The commander said that the contraband consisted of opium, hashish, heroin and Morphine.
