‘World must wake up, react to Israel crimes: Journalist

A US-based journalist says the international community must “wake up” and respond to acts of “terrorism” and “genocide” perpetrated by the Israeli regime, Press TV reports.

In an interview with Press TV on Wednesday, Eugene Michael Jones, editor of Culture Wars magazine, said the regime in Tel Aviv was born with acts of “terrorism,” “genocide” and “ethnic cleansing.”

The analyst described Menachem Begin and Yitzhak Shamir, former Israeli prime ministers, as “two of the most notorious terrorists” who “institutionalized” the policy of terrorism in Israel.
“What has to happen is [that] the world has to...wake up to this fact, realize it is not going to change and then condemn Israel and try to take steps to rectify the situation,” stated Michael Jones.
On December 24, two Palestinians, including a three-year-old girl, were killed and several others wounded after Israeli warplanes launched air strikes on the southern city of Khan Yunis in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military often targets Palestinians along the border with the Gaza Strip, which remains literally cut off from the outside world by a crippling Israeli blockade since 2007.

The siege has turned the densely-populated coastal sliver, home to some 1.7 million Palestinians, into the largest open-air prison in the world.

According to the Palestinian rights groups, over a dozen Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in the first half of 2013 and nearly 1,800 Palestinians, including women and children, were seized during the same period.
