Iran assigns special representative for Caspian Sea affairs

Baku. Real Jafarli – APA. Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Tuesday appointed Ebrahim Rahimpour as special representtaive for Caspain Sea Affairs, APA reports quoting IRNA.

According to a decree issued by the foreign minister, Rahimpour will shoulder the new responsibility simultaneously with his incumbent post as deputy foreign minister for Asia-Pacific affairs.

The special representative for the Caspian Sea affairs will lead negotiations on behalf of the Iranian governemnt with the Caspain Sea littoral states on the issues pertaining to the management of environment and security of the landlocked sea and good neighborly cooperation among the five nations — Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
